OPENING A NEW CASE
Learn how to open a new Case in Primafact, based on your firm's template.
CONVERT FILES TO THE NEW CASE FORMAT
Files in Primafact are set up in Black Case Folders which activate Case-level features for that specific Case.
BEFORE converting your Cases note that documents cannot be copied across multiple Cases.
If you have multiple files that share documents, decide which Case will hold the coded materials OR Create a “Master Case” that contains all of the related matters organized within the single black Case folder.
This must be done before Converting your yellow folder to a Case. When files are converted to the Case format, mutual copies of documents that filed in separate Cases are converted to Duplicates and no longer linked (copied) to other Cases.
COPYING and DUPLICATING DOCUMENTS
This video explains the difference between copying v. duplicating, and shows how to copy and duplicate documents in Primafact.
MERGING DOCUMENTS
Merging allows you to combine multiple documents into a single Primafact document.
EXTRACTING PAGES FROM A DOCUMENT
Extracting pages allows you to
- move pages from a document to create a separate document; or
- clone (copy) pages from one document to create a new document, while keeping the original intact.
FORCING OCR AND PRIORITIZING INDEXING
Forcing OCR can be used to improve the searchability of improperly OCR'd documents. This feature can also be used to prioritize indexing of selected new documents.
LINKING FILES TO PRIMAFACT
Linking creates a shortcut within Primafact that allows files on your network to be accessed directly from Primafact.
