Open a new Case using a Case Template
Using a Case Template as the basis of your new Case allows you to instantly set up a structured case with pre-formatted binders, along with optional settings, such as case-specific coding, views, and case permissions.
To create a new Case using a Case Template:
- Start by creating a New Case by right-clicking the destination folder and selecting New > Case.
- The Create New Case window will open.
- Enter your new case name in the New Case Name field.
- Use the Copy from the following Case Template dropdown to select the template you wish to copy for your new case.
- If you wish to simply apply all available case settings proceed to Step 6. If you want to selectively apply Case Template settings, you may apply them by clicking the Show More button at the bottom of the Create New Case screen.
- Click Create Case to apply all available Case Template Settings settings to the Case.
- If you have checked the Show Case Permissions dialog automatically after the case is created checkbox, the Primafact Message will appear. Click OK to proceed to the Case Permissions screen.
- If you wish to simply apply all available case settings, click OK to close. If you wish to apply additional Case permissions, apply the desired user permissions then click OK to close.
- Your new Case will appear in the destination folder.
You can copy the structure and settings of any Case by un-selecting the
Case Templates Only checkbox. This allows you to use any Primafact Case as the basis of your new Case.
Open a new Case without using a Case Template
Opening a case without a Case Template allows you to create a completely customized Case from the ground up, but it does require more effort than using a Template.
To create a new Case:
- Start by creating a New Case by right-clicking the destination folder and selecting New > Case.
- The Create New Case window will open.
- Enter your new case name in the New Case Name field.
- Click Create Case without selecting a Template.
- If you have checked the Show Case Permissions dialog automatically after the case is created checkbox, the Primafact Message will appear. Click OK to proceed to the Case Permissions screen.
- If you wish to simply apply global Case Permissions, click OK to close. If you wish to apply additional Case permissions, apply the desired user permissions then click OK to close.
- Your new Case will appear in the destination folder.
- You will need to create at least one binder to finish creating your Case.
- You may duplicate binders, tabs, sections and/or individual documents from other Cases or Case Templates to complete building your Case.
You can apply coding, views and other settings from other Templates to your Case as desired at any time to expedite and standardize your new Case settings.
