***How do I use the Quick Search option for binder searching

The Quick Search/Filter option is a simplified search option for the Binder view

The Quick Search field at the top of the binder view allows you to quickly jump to documents containing specific text in the title.

This is a simplified, less powerful binder search option for users who prefer using the binder search options available in Primafact 5 and earlier Primafact versions. (Default Primafact 6 6inder search settings are more robust and discussed in Binder Search and Filter.)

Quick Search Allows you to find document titles in Binder view. (Quick Search does not search document text, just the titles)

Switching to Quick Search from Full Search Filter Default

By default the Binder search field is set to Full text search filterThis allows you to search for text content within a document, annotations, profile fields and titles.

If you prefer to use the simpler quick search option you can change the search filter default setting.  Changes to this setting will only affect you, and not impact other users.

To change your binder search default settings:

  1. Click the filter dropdown button to the right of the Full text search filter input on the Binder toolbar.
  2. Select Search Options
  3. The Binder Text Filter Options  window will appear.  Select the Quick Filter button.
  4. Click OK to preserve your selection.

Using the Quick Search Filter

  1. In the Quick Search field, type part of the title for a document, tab or section. Press the Enter key or the button to commence the search.
  2. Click the forward or backward arrows to move to the next or previous match.
